Six houses catch fire in Wiltshire Way, Tunbridge Wells

Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze at six terraced homes in Tunbridge Wells.

The fire spread between the roofs of the properties.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using a water hose, air foam and a 10-metre ladder to tackle the fire in Wiltshire Way, close to High Brooms station.

Crews were called shortly after 3.10pm.

A thermal imaging camera is being used to identify the hot spots.

Locals have reported three engines are left on the scene.

A Kent Fire and Rescue service spokesman said: "Crews are making good progress and the incident is being scaled down from four to three engines.

"We are receiving cross-border assistance from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service."

Crews had put out the fire shortly before 6pm but remained at the scene until around 7.40pm.

There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
