Police helicopter was called out to Tunbridge Wells to search for 'suspicious person'

The police helicopter was called out to Tunbridge Wells to help carry out a search of the area.

A force spokesman said the patrols called for overhead assistance after reports of a "suspicious person" seen in the Broadwater Down area but no persons have been found.

Officers were dispatched to the area at about 2.50pm. The helicopter was seen above the town at around 4.20pm.

The spokesman added: "Officers carried out an extensive search and found no trace so are no longer at the scene."
