Peter Pan pantomime set to arrive at Assembly Hall Theatre later this year

Peter Pan is set to dazzle crowds in Tunbridge Wells this winter.

The pantomime, brought to you by the same team behind Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and Aladdin, will be performed by a star-studded cast at the Assembly Hall Theatre throughout December and January.

Among the cast will be Holby City's Mark Moraghan as Captain Hook and Gemma Hunt (CBeebies) as Tinkerbell.

Gemma is appearing in Peter Pan for the fourth time and said she couldn't be more excited. At a press launch for the pantomime she said: "Peter Pan is by far my favourite pantomime. I just love the role of Tinkerbell, I think a lot of people can relate to the character.

"Tink is a great character, she's mischievous, feisty and quite girly. So it's great to be able to portray all those different emotions."

Gemma is currently balancing her pantomime rehearsals with her continuing TV work and said it is sometimes difficult to keep on top of everything.

She added: "It is a bit intense at the moment so it's hard to keep calm. I'm quite organised and have a jam-packed calender, but it is what I love to do so I can't complain.

"I do miss my family over the Christmas period but I'll be home for Christmas day so it will be lovely. Christmas day is my day off really, so I make a conscious effort not to do a lot."

She has previously appeared in other Pantomimes including Cinderella and Aladdin.

Martin Dodd, producer of UK production - the company behind the performance - said: "We are delighted to be back at the Assembly Hall Theatre with our biggest pantomime to date.

"Peter Pan is a story that everybody loves and we will turn it into an all flying, all singing, all dancing, all laughter amazing spectacle that will have you hooked from the very beginning."

Theatre director of the Assembly Hall Theatre, Brian McAteer said: "It's a show that's packed with comedy, dance, and all the traditional audience participation that children - and those who never want to grow up - have come to love and enjoy. As Peter Pan says: "You'll never know if you never never go."
