Two men suspected of attacking and robbing a man have been arrested after a police chase.

The victim had his mobile phone stolen in Cromwell Road, Tunbridge Wells at 3.20am.

The men then drove away in a silver Mondeo, which was tracked by police to Alders Road after officers obtained partial details for the suspected vehicle's number plate.

A short chase followed before the two men stopped in Romford Road, Matfield, and made off into surrounding woods on foot.

A 30-year-old man from Matfield and a 27-year-old of no fixed address were arrested in Kings Toll Road, Pembury, on suspicion of robbery and driving while unfit through drink.

Both remain in custody.
