Sinkhole in Beulah Road, Tunbridge Wells

A road will be closed for up to 20 days after a sinkhole opened up.

Beulah Road in Tunbridge Wells has been shut after the hole in the road was found earlier today.

Highways bosses have warned residents in the one-way road that it will be closed off entirely with no alternative route.

They said "every effort will be made" for residents to maintain access.

In a statement Kent Highways said: "The closure is necessary due to subsidence in the carriageway. Investigation works will be carried out by Kent County Council.

"Beulah Road, Tunbridge Wells will be closed to through traffic on, or after, February 9, 2017 for up to 20 days."
