East Malling teens arrested on suspicion of planning fuel theft in Tunbridge Wells

Two teenagers are in custody having been arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal fuel.

At around 11.50pm yesterday police received a report stating a car linked to eight reports of fuel theft was travelling in the St John’s Road area.

These previous thefts are reported to have taken place across Sevenoaks, Gravesend, West Malling, Rochester, Offham and Strood between December 19 and December 23.

The vehicle was located in St John’s Road where officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from East Malling on suspicion of going equipped for theft, bilking and driving with no insurance.

An 18-year-old man from East Malling was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and bilking.

They remain in custody as inquiries continue.
