She has now recovered, but has taken to Facebook to alert others. Her post has been shared thousands of times.

She said: "Every 5/10 minutes my body was going into spasms looking like I was possessed. I had my parents and my best friend holding my hands the whole way through.

"My body went into another spasm and then it was like my body had finally given up, I had stopped breathing. Luckily doctors resuscitated me.

"I cannot remember anything, my mind and body are still in shock. I feel mentally abused and constantly asking myself 'why would someone do this to anyone?'

"I cannot imagine the pain and heartbreak my parents and best friend had to go through as they watched all of this. At some point they thought I had gone. If an ambulance wasn't called I wouldn't be here today to tell you all this.

"I am so grateful that I am here today. It's coming up to a special time of year with loads of nights to go out and celebrate so everyone please watch your drinks! Even if it's at your local pub!

"Lives can be lost because of spiked drinks and no family or friends should ever have to witness what mine did that night. All caused by some sick minded person who gets pleasure from this.

"Females are normally targeted when spiked for sexual reasons but there is a rise in the amount of men being spiked for their wallets!"
