Police warning after white vans stolen in Maidstone, Yalding and Wouldham

Thieves are targeting white vans in west Kent where three vehicles have been stolen in just over a week.

Police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the thefts in Maidstone, Yalding and Wouldham, between Thursday, November 3 and the end of the following week.

A Peugeot Partner was stolen from Medway Avenue, Yalding, between 6pm on Thursday, November 3 and 7.30am on Friday, November 4.

Two Ford Transit vans were then reported stolen, one from Benover Road, Maidstone, at 12.15pm on Friday, November 4, the other while parked in High Street, Wouldham, between 9pm on Wednesday, November 9 and 9.40am on Thursday, November 10.

But a man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a Land Rover Discovery parked in a road in Marden.

The 37-year-old from Maidstone was arrested on Sunday (November 13) for allegedly taking the vehicle from Battle Lane the previous Wednesday.

He has been granted bail until Thursday, February 2.

Following the spate of thefts, police are reminding drivers to keep their vehicles locked, avoid leaving car or van keys on display and park in a secure garage or well-lit area where possible.
