Scrubland fire in Ladyoak Lane in Kilndown, Goudhurst caused by bonfire

Firefighters spent an hour tackling a scrubland fire in Goudhurst yesterday.

The blaze, which took hold in a 10 metre square area of peat in Ladyoak Lane, Kilndown, is thought to have spread from a nearby bonfire.

One crew spent an hour putting out the fire, which was reported at 9.20pm, with jets using water from a nearby lake.
