Paddock Wood: Burglars smash window with rock before stealing bikes

Police appealing for information after thieves smashed a shop window with a large rock and stole bicycles which had been on display.

It was reported that a rock was used to break through the glass of a window at Evernden Cycles in Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, during a burglary on Sunday.

The break-in was reported to police at 8.43pm. It is alleged two men stole three mountain bikes which they then loaded into a white van, before fleeing the scene and heading in the direction of Matfield.

Inquiries by police are ongoing including forensic examination of the crime scene and reviewing any CCTV opportunities.

Officers are now issuing images of the stolen bicycles and appealing to anyone who has been offered one for sale or with other information to call them.

The bikes are as follows – A Giant Pique 2 mountain bike, a Giant Obsess Advanced 1 mountain bike and a Giant Pique SX mountain bike. None of them had pedals attached.
