UPDATED: Car hits tree in Goudhurst Road in Cranbrook

A main road through Cranbrook has been closed after a crash.

Police closed the A262 Goudhurst Road in both directions at the junction with the A229 following the accident, which happened before 8am this morning.

Only one car, a Fiat Picanto, was involved. It had plunged into a tree, leaving the driver trapped.

Kent Fire and Rescue cut free the man in his 20s who was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital with minor injuries.
