Marden: Firefighters called to tackle derelict barn fire in Goudhurst Road

Firefighters were called to a large fire at a derelict barn in Marden.

Two crews were called to Goudhurst Road at 5.56am and the fire was extinguished by 7.30am.

The single-storey barn was described as fully involved in the fire.

It's not known how it started and no one's thought to have been hurt.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Services said: "This was a single-storey derelict barn and approximately 10 x 15 metres in size.

"Crews tackled the blaze using a high-pressure hose reel jet.

"KFRS was called at 5.56am and firefighting operations were completed at 7.27am this morning.

"There are no reports of any injuries and the cause is not known."
