Fallen tree blocks A229 Horns Hill, Hawkhurst

A fallen tree that was blocking a road near Hawkhurst this morning has been removed.

The A229 Horns Hill was partially blocked and the fallen tree was discovered at about 10.30am.

Kent County Council's highways department said it was sending a member of staff to investigate and urged drivers to take care.

A spokesman said earlier: "There is a fallen tree partially blocking the road on the bend near Kent Bridge Farm. Approach with caution. A highway steward will be attending the site."

A police spokesman said they have not been called to assist in diverting traffic.
