Headcorn: Police swoop on traveller sites in Lenham Road, Headcorn, and arrest four men over slavery

Four men arrested on suspicion of slavery offences following a raid on two traveller sites have been bailed.

Police swooped on The Meadows and Martin's Garden in Lenham Road, Headcorn, at 5am yesterday (Wednesday).

Officers remained at the sites into the afternoon and took four men, aged 25, 28, 32, 35 and all of Martin's Garden, into custody on suspicion of modern slavery offences.

Police have confirmed armed units were not called to the scene.

EDF Energy also attended and have been approached for comment.
