New chef at the Milk House in Sissinghurst

There's a new hand on the tiller in the kitchen of the Milk House restaurant in Sissinghurst.

It belongs to 29-year-old Joshua Price.

From the Brecon Beacons in Wales, Mr Price was most recently at The Swan and Dog in Great Chart, but his career includes helping British food champion Mark Hix launch his restaurant at the Belgraves Hotel in Knightsbridge.

Mr Price is working on a new summer menu to include delights such as grilled langoustines with fennel, smoked lemon and garlic butter, and pomegranate poussin with potato waffle and a red cabbage, spinach and blackberry slaw. But he insisted: "I’ve always believed that the mark of a good pub is its roast. The Milk House is a great pub, so I’m looking forward to developing something special with a bit of a twist.”
