Man taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury after pile of wood fell on him at site off Goudhurst Road, Marden

A man has been rushed to hospital after a pile of wood fell on him at a building site.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the industrial accident at a housing development off Goudhurst Road, Marden, just after midday yesterday.

The casualty, believed to be a contractor in his 50s, was treated at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance and Kent Air Ambulance medics.

He was then taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury for further treatment.

The Health and Safety Executive has not yet been informed about the incident, but a spokesman said the site manager or police had 10 days to do so.
