Staplehurst: Man taken to hospital after fall in High Street

A man was taken to hospital after he was injured in a fall in a village high street.

The accident happened in Staplehurst, at around 12.30pm on Friday, and sparked a large emergency response.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called and the man was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury by road, with injuries to his head and arm.

It came as Kent was in the grip of wintry weather, with snow and ice creating treacherous conditions.
