Teenager continues to fight for life after double fatal crash in Hawkhurst

A teenage girl is continuing to fight for life after a crash which killed two men.

Police have confirmed a 44-year-old man from Cranbrook and 50-year-old from north Wales died at the scene in Hawkhurst on Saturday evening.

Emergency crews were called at around 9.30pm after a red Volvo estate car travelling towards Sandhurst smashed into a wall on the A268 Rye Road, near the junction with Foxhole Lane.

A man and two teenage children were taken to hospital.

The girl was flown to King's College Hospital in London with a serious head injury, where she remains in a life-threatening condition.

The road was closed for several hours, and floral tributes have since been left at the scene.

Officers have now renewed their appeal for witnesses.
