Kent Fire and Rescue Service cut man free from vehicle following two car accident at junction of Glassenbury Road and Hartley Road in Cranbrook

Firefighters had to cut a man free from his vehicle following a two car crash this afternoon.

The accident happened at the junction of Glassenbury Road and Hartley Road in Cranbrook.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called at 2.30pm and crews had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to release the trapped driver, who was suffering from back pain.

Once he was free ambulance crews placed him on a spinal board and escorted him to Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

An elderly woman, who was driving the second car, was also freed by fire fighters.

She was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital with a minor injury to her face.
