'Kentish Connections' Sevenoaks and Tonbridge Concert Band

Sevenoaks and Tonbridge to feature in World Premiere Philip Sparke’s composition is to be premiered at the Sevenoaks and Tonbridge Concert Band’s “Kentish Connections” concert.
The audience will enjoy a varied programme of music, all with links to the county. In aid of the Kent-based brain tumour charity, the Silas Pullen Fund. The programme includes the theme tune to "Pride and Prejudice" and a medley from the Rolling Stones. Philip Sparke's “Sevenoaks Suite” was commissioned by the Sevenoaks and Tonbridge Concert Band, and is inspired by a combination of the sweeping landscape and wonderful wildlife of Knole Park in the first movement, while the second movement has a hymn-like quality, evoking the majestic chapel at Tonbridge School. It then culminates with an energetic finale of music associated with "The Vine Bandstand" in summer.
