Spring Bird Walk at Hargate Forest
Join local wildlife expert for a gentle walk around Hargate Forest, near Tunbridge Wells, to hear the morning birdsong, identify species and spot birds in the woods.
Join us for an early start at Hargate Forest, at the southern edge of Tunbridge Wells on the Kent/East Sussex border! We will listen out for the songs of the many resident birds including song thrush, robin and great tit this wonderful woodland. We may see the scarce marsh tit and firecrest. These species will be joined at this time of year by summer migrants and we would hope to hear chiffchaff and blackcap. If luck is with us, we may hear the amazing fluty song of willow warbler. We might even see a few birds, in particular woodpeckers and possibly even cuckoo, if we stay reasonably quiet! There should also be displays of bluebells and other spring flowers at this time of year. Your guide will be local wildlife expert, Martin Allison. The walk starts at 7am and will finish at 9am. Due to the need to be quiet to listen out for the birds, the walk is not suitable for young children or dogs
