Music legend Billy Ocean headlines this year’s Lawnfest in Sevenoaks.

Billy enjoyed huge success throughout the late 1970s and 1980s with hits including Caribbean Queen, Get Outta My Dreams and When The Going Gets Tough (The Tough Get Going).

He will be singing all of his classics at the fifth Lawnfest, a fundraising family festival at the West Heath School, which helps rebuild the lives of traumatised children.

In addition to a wealth of live music, there will also be the Kids’ Garden area, featuring a host of fun entertainment including chocolate master-classes; cake decorating and face painting.

Circus Stardust will bring all the fun of the big top with acrobats, jugglers and fire-eaters; master of magic Robert Pound will dazzle audiences with his spectacular tricks, and there will also be a special teddy bear’s picnic.

The Lawnfest Village will have dozens of stalls selling vintage, organic and homemade goodies.

And if you fancy some refreshments there will be a feast of special treats on offer, including bistro-style burgers from the Street Kitchen silver airstream van; pizza served by Fox & Raisin from their vintage Citroen’s wood fired pizza oven and luxury ice-cream from Kiss My Cake’s vintageice-cream van BlueBelle.

Older visitors will enjoy sampling a tipple at the Cocktail Club Emporium, and a traditional English afternoon will be available from Violet’s Vintage Teas - with vintage dress-up compulsory.

School principal Christina Wells said: “All the students are very excited. Our music, arts and food festival is proving to be very popular and we are expecting 3,000 people this year. It is important to remember why we put this event on. It is to raise much need funds to enable vulnerable youngsters to come to our school.”

It takes place from 3pm to 10pm on Saturday, July 6. Tickets are £25 for adults, £12 for children and free for under nines. Call 0845 652 6263 or visit www.lawnfest.co.uk
