There’s a new venue and a new name for the War and Peace Show which has taken place at the Hop Farm in Paddock Wood for the last 25 years.

Now known as the War and Peace Revival it takes place at Folkestone Racecourse on Wednesday, July 17.

But the five-day event will still have all the popular features including a huge military vehicle displays, trade stands selling everything from a shirt button to a tank and battle re-enactments.

There will also be Living History scenes providing an insight of life during conflict, from the First World War to the present day. See the British living in trenches, GIs in Vietnam, Russians relaxing on the Eastern Front and the Home Guard preparing for attack. And those seeking a little more glamour and refinement can head to the Vintage Village. It includes the V Marquee offering period entertainment, a vintage funfair and the Market Place selling retro clothing, homewares and memorabilia and offering hair and make-up demonstrations.

There will also be a dance marquee providing lessons in everything from jive to rock ‘n’ roll.

History enthusiasts can visit a unique exhibition of photographs of Kent, courtesy of the War and Peace Photo Archive, depicting life in the county during the war. It includes Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s visit to Deal, Winston Churchill and General Montgomery in Dover and freedom marches through Canterbury.

Friday, July 19: An night with the Jive Aces.

Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists the Jive Aces will be performing songs from their latest album King of the Swingers. The yellow-suited jive and swing sextet, who found fame on the ITV talent show last year, will be joined by special guests, the Satin Dollz, a 1940s-style American girl group. Burlesque beauty Kitten Von Mew, will also perform, and more period music will be provided by DJ Terry Elliott. It stars at 7.30pm. Tickets £15.

Saturday, July 20: John Miller and his Orchestra.

John is the nephew of the late Big Band leader Glenn Miller, and will be leading his orchestra in an authentic performance of Miller's famous songs, including In The Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo and Tuxedo Junction. The evening will include a period-inspired meal and a 1940s floor show, jive competition and swing music from a trio of DJs. It starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £25.

The War and Peace Revival runs from Wednesday, July 17 to Sunday, July 21. Gates are open daily from 9am to 6pm. Day tickets are £16.65 for adults, £14.85 for children, £54 for a family. Veterans of the Second World War will enjoy free entry as normal and in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Koreen War and the 50th anniversary of the end of National Service, veterans of these will also receive free admission.
