JAM on the Marsh, a two-week arts festival in Romney Marsh, calls for artists for its 2017 event

Organisers of a multi-arts festival which attracted more than 10,000 people this year are calling on artists and performers to get in touch for next years' event.

JAM on the Marsh, which takes over Romney Marsh for two weeks each summer with art, music, theatre and other activities, has put out its call to artists for the JAM on the Marsh 2017, which will be held from July 6 to 16, 2017.

The event, the brainchild of local couple Ed and Sarah Armitage, attracts some high-profile artists and musicians, last year including actress Dame Janet Suzman and a performance broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 with the BBC Singers.

Visitors to the festival this year also saw Onyx Brass and international fashion photographer Tristan Fewings and visiting artists took part in a Bring Your Own (BYO) intiative.

JAM on the Marsh puts on some of the concerts and events, while others are staged by the artists and performers themselves.

Organisers are happy to hear from artists across the arts spectrum from dance, comedy, theatre, poetry and storytelling, to music, crafts, art and photography.
