Also playing will be the House Gospel Choir, James Hype and Detlef, plus an exclusive showcase from Ibiza club brand Solid Grooves. Local bands will also be joining the line-up.

"After touring with some of the biggest names in UK music, the House Gospel Choir are an act to make sure you don’t miss," said festival organiser Stuart O’Leary.

"Mixing classic gospel sounds with modern electronic anthems, it’s really is going to changing preconceptions of what 'a choir' is! They’ll be performing on the free-to-enter Marlowe Stage on the Saturday."

'We’re really proud that so many acts we’ve brought to Kent, have gone on to such success'

Established in 2012, City Sound Project brings music from electronic DJs to live bands, the spoken word, street art and more to the city.

Previous headliners include Bastille, George Ezra, Mystery Jets, Mike Skinner and Slaves.

"It’s always tough to unearth the next gem. But we’re really proud that so many acts we’ve brought to Kent, have gone on to such success and we’d hope that we would have had some small part to play in that," said the event's music director Blake McCaskill.

Stages will be set up at venues including Westgate Towers, chapels and castles and festival-goers can exchange their tickets for a wristband on the day at one of three exchange points, which then gives them access to all parts of the festival.
