Medway English Festival free at Riverside Country Park this weekend with a royal theme

All things English from morris dancing to drinking tea will be celebrated this weekend as part of the annual English Festival in Medway.

The event, held at Riverside Country Park in Lower Rainham on Saturday, April 21 will be a fun-packed free day out with activities including a cake decorating competition and the theme this year is the royal baby and royal wedding - both imminent, with Kate and William expecting their third baby any day and Harry and Meghan Markle marrying on Saturday, May 19.

Festivities run from 11am to 5pm and include animal petting pens with a mobile farm experience, funfair rides, bingo, food stalls, sheep shearing and live music and other entertainment, historical displays and craft tents.

There will also be Punch and Judy, St George and the dragon will be on stilts and visitors can take part in a town crier competition, presided over by the new Medway town Crier, Mike Billingham.. For details go to enjoymedway.org
