English Wine Week is returning and Hush Heath Estate will be offering free tastings

With English Wine Week just around the corner, it’s time to enjoy a tipple and top up those glasses at a variety of events around Kent.

The national campaign is in its third year of raising awareness for English wines - as in the last 16 years English sparkling wines have won 14 international sparkling wine trophies a feat which hasn’t been achieved by any other country.

To celebrate English wines a week of events, which run from Saturday, May 23 until Sunday, May 31, will be hosted around the county.The newly refurbished Goudhurst Inn will be offering a selection of Hush Heath wines and ciders, free tastings and self-guided walks are available without charge at the Hush Heath Estate in Staplehurst, just five miles from the Inn.

The estate is open seven days a week, from 11am until 5pm. Including bank holidays.

Other events which will take place around the county include a special gourmet Wild food and Kentish wine evening, on Tuesday, May 26, at Saltwood on the Green restaurant.

Tickets for the gourmet dinner cost £65 including service. £55 if booked in advance, with a £10 deposit.

A morning at the vineyard followed by two course lunch at The Milk House village pub, in Colliers Green on Saturday, May 23. Tickets are £95 per person with limited spaces.
