Kent school holidays: 10 days out and fun family events this Easter break 2018

We may have left the Easter bunny behind, but there's one last hurrah for the school holidays this weekend before it's back to school. We've picked 10 activities on offer for you to hop along to...

1. BLUEWATER

In between the shopping and cinema trips, there's a roarsome Dinosaur Trail to be tried, where young visitors can follow a trail with explorers Rhys and Rosie using a trail map from the concierge desk outside M&S, to seek out the dinosaurs around the centre and pick up a prehistoric prize. 2. CANTERBURY TALES

It's early, but there's maypole dancing to be had, as well as storytelling in the Canterbury attraction's Medieval Story Garden until Sunday, April 15. Visitors can also the Knight School. Entry is included in normal admission costs. To book and for more details visit canterburytales.org.uk

3. HISTORIC DOCKYARD, CHATHAM

Can you spot the rope eggs which will be hidden around the site until Tuesday, April 17? For more details visit thedockyard.co.uk

4. DREAMLAND, MARGATE

Farmyard fun is on offer including hula hooping as the Shaun the Sheep Championsheeps Live come to the Margate site for the school break. There are eight different village fete-style activities to try, between noon and 4pm daily until Sunday, April 15. For entry costs and details go to dreamland.co.uk

5. HOWLETTS, NEAR CANTERBURY

Alongside the wild animals of today are the Animals of the Ice Age, featuring life sized beasts which will take you back to the Ice Age. The creatures from 2.6 million years ago have joined the 400 animals from giant anteaters to African elephants at the wild animal park. Details at aspinallfoundation.org/howletts At its sister park, Port Lympne, near Hythe, there's a Golden Egg Competition to win a baboon encounter to find the six eggs hidden around the reserve until Sunday, April 15. 6. KENT LIFE, MAIDSTONE

The Big Top has daily shows on right through the holidays until Sunday, April 15, including Flip's Puppet Show and BubbleJo's Bubble Show. While at the site in Sandling make sure you catch the piglets and lambs, and look out for the owl flying demonstrations. For details call 01622 763936 or visit kentlife.org.uk

7. LEEDS CASTLE, MAIDSTONE

The Easter holiday fun at the castle runs until Sunday, April 15 with the Easter Quest. Seek out clues hidden around the grounds on a fun quest for children of all ages - with a chocolate treat awaiting at the end. 8. PENSHURST PLACE

Children's crafts are on offer from 11am to 4pm through to Sunday, April 15. While at the historic house, make sure you check out the revamped woodland trail and improved adventure playground. Details at penshurstplace.com

9. NATIONAL TRUST

If your little ones are still up for something chocolatey, the trust is running its Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts until Sunday, April 15, with themes from birds to giant leaves, with the chance to get outside and celebrate nature. There are hunts at Chartwell, Emmetts Garden and Scotney Castle. Details at nationaltrust.org.uk/southeast

10. GODINTON HOUSE & GARDENS
