Art studio Linden Hall Studio, Deal, marks two years with biggest exhibition to date

From sculpture to wood carving and ceramics to moving images, an art studio will celebrate its second anniversary with an exhibition which covers every genre.

The Linden Hall Studio contemporary art gallery opened its doors at 32 St George’s Road, Deal, two years ago, staging different displays every month, with a fresh artist showing their work from across Kent and beyond.

The gallery, which offers new works for people to enjoy, has brought together a range of artists who cover all sorts of genres for its biggest exhibition to date.

The Winter Group Show opens on Wednesday, December 7 and runs through to Sunday, January 29, featuring the work of around 50 artists from local painters to members of the New English Art Club, to Royal Academicians.

Organisers see it as a chance to pause for reflection after the whirlwind of the last two years.

Myles Corley, who runs the gallery with parents Heather and John Corley, said: “When 32, St George’s Road first opened in November 2014 the future was far from certain. None of us were sure what was in store for this small, independent gallery. Since that time the gallery has gone from strength to strength, with a multitude of artists, artworks, styles and media being exhibited within Linden Hall Studio’s walls.

“The exhibition aims to show the development of the gallery during its first and second season as a centre for the visual arts.

“More than just artists having exhibitions, or visitors admiring the works on display, these artists have become some of the gallery’s most loyal supporters and trusted friends.

“Without these painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers there would be no gallery, the walls would be bare and I would not have had the pleasure of spending the last two years engaging with an ever changing audience.

“This is our first milestone and our 20th exhibition. I don’t think we have missed any medium! This is a bit of everything we have done.”

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sundays 11am to 2pm.
