Great British Bake Off's Sue Perkins will conduct the Orion Orchestra at Margate Winter Gardens

Bake Off star Sue Perkins is coming to Kent - armed with a baton.

Sue, who presented the BBC's Bake Off with Mel Giedroyc, will come to Margate Winter Gardens on Sunday, January 29, to conduct a full symphony orchestra.

She will lead the Orion Orchestra, supported by West End singers and Eurovision finalist Sarbel, on a journey through hit music from Star Wars, Batman, Frozen and children’s classics.

Also on the night will be Shrek, bringing the Monkees hit song I’m a Believer from London’s West End and Rick Wakeman, who will make a guest appearance performing his Noisy Notes theme tune.

She appeared in, and won, the BBC's Maestro show in 2008, when a group of celebrities learned to conduct an orchestra.

The show will be at 2.30pm, with tickets costing £7, £5 for children and £15 for a family of four.
