Maidstone: Kent County Show has children's activities, Punch and Judy, and kmfm and KMTV will be there

There are many uses for your KM paper after you’ve caught up on all the latest events and competitions, but here’s one you’ve not tried before – making a forest with it.

The unlikely idea is just one of the activities to try at this year's Kent County Show, which opens on Friday, July 7.

The KM Media Group has teamed up with Canterbury’s Gulbenkian and the artists of Animate Arts so that visitors can make a paper tree and plant it in a bOing Forest, which will be on show later this summer at Canterbury's bOing! Festival.

Once the artists have shown you how to make your tree, you can immerse yourself in the public art exhibition by walking through the trees and taking selfies among them.

Young visitors can also become a bOing! furry friend by making a 3D animal paper mask.

You can find vouchers to take along to join in the fun in this week's What's On inside your local KM paid-for paper.

Head to the KM stand at the show to get creative, and while there you could pick up a goody bag packed with treats including Kent crisps, a pen and a bottle of water, and a paper, all for just £1.

Mask and paper tree making are not the only activities for youngsters at the show. There will be free Punch and Judy shows in the Woodland area at 10.30am, noon, 2pm and 3.30pm on all three days of the show.

Another children’s favourite, Tractor Ted, will be back this year, with his own area where youngsters will be able to play on the Tractor Ted bouncy castle, operate digger den, take part in welly wanging, complete a giant puzzle and visit their merchandise shop.

You can also get the sights and sounds of the show straight from the horse’s mouth this weekend as kmfm and KMTV will both be broadcasting from the show.

kmfm will be staging a Kent County Show takeover as Breakfast, Daytime and Drivetime will all be coming live from the thick of the action, meeting the people who make it all happen.
