Presented by UK Theatre, the annual UK Theatre Awards are the only nationwide awards to honour creative excellence and the outstanding achievement seen on and off stage.

Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre has high hopes of being recognised in the awards ceremony if the visitors who often tell them how much they enjoy the Marlowe tell the awards organisers as well.

Theatre director Mark Everett said: “We receive regular feedback from our many customers and touring companies about the efficiency and friendliness of our staff. It would be good if, as well as telling us, people tell the organisers of the competition!”

To vote for The Marlowe Theatre in My Theatre Matters! UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre Award, go to http://www.mytheatrematters.com/surveys/south-east, or via the UK Theatre website. Voting closes on Monday, September 29.

To ensure a fair and competitive process, the public voting system will be partially weighted by theatre capacity to ensure smaller venues have an equal chance of winning as large theatres.

The winner will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony at London’s Guildhall on Sunday, October 19.
