Kent music festival By The Sea at Dreamland, Margate, to be headlined by Hot Chip and Foals

The second headline act for a new mini music festival coming to the Kent seaside has been revealed.

Last month, indie band Foals were confirmed for the event's Saturday night slot and now ultra-cool dance act Hot Chip have announced they will be topping the bill on the first night of the inaugural festival - known as By The Sea.

Taking place in the newly-refurbished ballroom at Margate's Dreamland, tickets to the Hot Chip gig go on sale at 9am on Friday, September 25.

Following the release of their sixth studio album, Why Make Sense, earlier this year to a flurry of critical acclaim, Hot Chip have taken their place as one of the UK's best-loved live acts.

Now the band are back for a new autumn tour and have already sold out shows next month in Glasgow, Manchester and Brixton.

Tickets to the Margate concert on Friday, November 13 cost £28.50 and include entry to Dreamland’s many amusements, rides and arcades.

A full supporting cast of guest DJs and after-parties will be announced for By The Sea in the coming weeks.

The Saturday event with Foals headlining sold out inside two minutes, however with the addition of Hot Chip's Friday’s concert, a limited release of weekend tickets will also go on sale at 9am this Friday, priced £55.
