Air ambulance lands on beach at Whitstable to assist medical incident

The air ambulance landed on a beach as crews helped respond to a medical incident.

The emergency services were called to Joy Lane, Whitstable, at 8.20am and the helicopter landed on the beach at Admiralty Walk.

It then took off and landed on the park behind Sandpiper Road to assist further.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Kent Police was called at about 8.20am to Joy Lane in Whitstable to assist the South East Coast Ambulance with a person having a medical incident."

Joy Lane, the main route linking Whitstable and Seasalter, was blocked during the emergency response.

The ambulance service has been approached for more information.
