Arrest after robbery at Shell garage at Chestfield Roundabout, Whitstable

A man has been arrested following a late night service station robbery.

Toby Robert Shilling, 27, was tracked down by police after cash and cigarettes were swiped from a Shell petrol station on the A299 Thanet Way at Chestfield.

He was arrested in Seasalter at 2.45pm on Friday following the incident last Saturday, which reportedly involved two men.

Shilling, of Arolla Road, Herne Bay, has been charged with robbery and has been remanded in custody to appear before Medway magistrates via virtual court today.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information about the incident.
