Delays following crash on A299 Thanet Way near Chestfield Tunnel

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A299 Thanet Way involving a car and lorry this morning

It happened shortly after 9.30am, just before the Chestfield tunnel between Whitstable and Herne Bay.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 9.31am on Saturday 11 November 2017 to reports of a collision involving a car and a lorry on the Londonbound carriageway of the A299 near to the Chestfield Tunnel.

"Officers attended the scene and the carriageway is now fully open.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service were also in attendance and a man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution."
