The Thanet Way at Whitstable was shut-off this afternoon after a serious crash between a car and a motorbike.

Both sides of the busy dual carriageway were closed following the accident shortly before midday.

An air ambulance landed in a nearby field and flew the injured motorcyclist to a London hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The crash happened in the coastbound carriageway just before the Whitstable turn-off.

Both sides of the road were closed but had been reopened by 1.50pm.
