Police were called to a disturbance at Kent and Canterbury Hospital after reports a man urinated on the floor, tried to climb into someone else's trolley and racially abused a nurse.
Officers arrested Anthony Hutchings, 24, of Lucerne Drive, Seasalter, last Wednesday following the allegations.
He was charged with two racially aggravated and threatening offences after the alleged outburst.
He was released on bail to appear before Canterbury Magistrates on May 30.
