The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Rail services were left at a standstill following the incident last night, resuming just after midnight.

Rail operator Southeastern said all lines between Faversham and Margate were blocked with replacement buses laid on. The line re-opened just after midnight.

A BTP spokesman added: "Officers from BTP and Kent Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 9.20pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

"Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended but a male was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed."

A file is being prepared for the coroner.
