Sainsbury's bosses refuse to deny Budgens takeover rumours in Whitstable High Street

Sainsbury’s bosses have refused to deny rumours that it is set to take over the Budgens store in Whitstable High Street.

But despite refusing to comment on specific plans, a spokesperson from the supermarket chain did confirm that the town is an area of interest.

Sainsbury’s spokeswoman Janet Heald said: “While Whitstable is an area of interest, we are unable to confirm any specific plans at the moment.”
