A man has suffered potentially serious injuries and been airlifted to hospital after a suspected industrial accident.
Emergency crews, including police, paramedics and the air ambulance, have rushed to Orbital Marketing Services, in The Boulevard, Ashford.
A man in his 40s suffered injuries to his back, legs and pelvic area after getting trapped in heavy metal machinery in the Orbital Park industrial estate.
Witnesses saw a number of emergency vehicles at the scene and the air ambulance landed nearby.
A SECAmb spokesman said: "The man was treated at the scene for substantial back and leg injuries and pelvic pain.
"He has been airlifted to Kings College Hospital, in London, for further treatment."
A police spokesman said: "Emergency services are at the scene and next of kin have been made aware."
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has also been informed. A spokesman said: "The accident occurred at a Local Authority enforced site.
"HSE were informed of the incident and gave the relevant information to Ashford Borough Council. HSE will not be investigating."
A spokesman for Orbital Marketing Services Group Ltd confirmed there had been an incident on site.
He said: "One of our employees was involved in a serious incident within our premises in Ashford.
"The emergency services were summoned immediately by nearby colleagues, and our employee was taken directly to hospital.
"We are working with the Police and Health and Safety authorities to establish the facts surrounding the incident, and a full internal investigation is underway.
"Our focus now is on the care and wellbeing of our employee and his family."
