A MAN was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of murder in the case of 21-year-old Ashford woman Amanda Champion.

The man was questioned by police but was released on bail pending further inquiries.

Miss Champion was last seen on Thursday, July 3, buying a carton of milk and a packet of crisps at the South Willesborough post office in Mead Road, Ashford.

Her movements were captured on CCTV cameras in the store. Three weeks later her decomposed body was found a few hundred yards away near The Albion public house. The full carton of milk was beside her.

Officers have interviewed hundreds of people in their investigations since the body was found. An incident room hs been set up at Folkestone police station. The telephone number is 01303 289600.
