A fifth mobile phone repair shop is set to open in a town centre.

IFIX 4 YOU - a business specialising in phone repairs and accessories - looks set to move into a prime empty shop in King's Parade, Ashford.

It will take over the site previously occupied by Timpson before the chain abandoned its spot in October.

Currently, there are four other mobile repair shops in the town, including Top Gift and TD Electronics which are both based in the County Square shopping centre.

Mobile Cottage is located a few yards from the new store in the high street, and Mobile Street is based in the Park Mall shopping centre.

Other smartphone shops including EE, Three, Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone are also trading in the town, while GAME and CeX also sell phones.

Timpson blamed a lack of footfall on its closure, although it still has a store in County Square.

Signage has been erected outside the store's front, but it is not known when the new mobile phone shop will open.
