Police arrest two men on suspicion of fraud after patrol attends The Co-op in Sellindge, near Ashford

A pair of suspected fraudsters have been arrested outside a village supermarket.

Emergency services were spotted parked next to The Co-op off Ashford Road in Sellindge yesterday evening.

Neighbours voiced concerns after seeing three police cars near The Cygnets housing estate shortly after 7pm.

Officers have now confirmed two suspects have been detained.

A spokesman for the force said: “On the evening of Thursday, February 6, a Kent Police patrol stopped a vehicle which had been linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud.

“Two men from north London were arrested on suspicion of fraud and they remain in custody while inquiries continue.”
