Ashford Designer Outlet to get Cosmetic Company branch stocking Estèe Lauder, Mac Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown

A cosmetics supplier owned by Estèe Lauder is expected to set up shop in the Ashford Designer Outlet.

The Cosmetic Company will stock items produced by the luxury makeup brand and its subsidiary firms.

The move was revealed in a planning application seeking to increase the amount of perfume and cosmetics floorspace at the Outlet, which was approved by Ashford Borough Council yesterday.

In the council officer's assessment, it reads: "A total of 396 sqm of floorspace is occupied by brands considered to fall within the cosmetics and perfume sector and the proposed new tenant would occupy a unit of 167sqm, bringing the total to 563 sqm.

"The new tenant proposed for the centre would be Estee Lauder Companies and this would trade at the Outlet as the ‘Cosmetic Company’ for the retail sale at discounted prices of prestige cosmetic products.

"It is indicated that the store would stock Estee Lauder, Clinique, Origins, Prescriptives, Aramis, Tommy Hillfiger, Donna Karen, Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Jo Malone, Mac, Le Mer, Bumble and Bumble, and any other brands owned or controlled by the ELC, or for which the ELC is an authorised licensee in the UK.

"It is likely that the store would employ between 8-10 people."

It is not known whether the shop would take up a current unit, or whether it will be joining the new extension - set to add 50 brands to the Outlet's current offering.

Five Guys welcomed its first Ashford customers last week as the latest new opening, following the likes of Krispy Kreme, Yo! Sushi and Under Armour.

Hotly awaited openings still to come include Haribo, Starbucks and UGG.
