Boy taken to hospital after iPhone robbery in Ashford underpass

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after he was robbed of his mobile phone in an underpass.

The alleged attack happened between 11.30pm and midnight on Tuesday, May 7 near Station Road in Ashford.

A 22-year-old has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery and police are appealing for witnesses.

It is reported that the teenage boy was assaulted by two people in the underpass before they made off with his iPhone 5S.

He sustained facial injuries and bruising and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The 22-year-old man from Ashford was arrested the following day and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
