A251 Faversham Road shut after car hits pedestrian in Boughton Aluph near Ashford

A busy route was closed in both directions after a car hit a pedestrian.

Police and paramedics were called to the A251 Faversham Road in Boughton Aluph, near Ashford, this afternoon.

An air ambulance was also spotted near the scene of the collision.

The busy route was closed in both directions as emergency services respond to the incident.

A police spokesman said: “We are currently attending a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Faversham Road, Boughton Aluph.

“Officers were called to the scene at 3.41pm today. The ambulance service is also in attendance.

“The road is currently closed while work is ongoing to clear the carriageway.”

The ambulance service confirmed paramedics were at the scene but could not provide further information at this stage.

There are reports of traffic delays in the area due to the road closure.

Officers reopened the route at about 5.30pm.
