Children, 5 and 8, in ‘serious condition’ after car hit them outside Tesco supermarket in Kingsnorth, near Ashford

Young children taken to hospital after a crash outside a supermarket are in a serious condition.

A car hit a five and eight-year-old at about 4pm yesterday (Monday) near Tesco Extra on Moatfield Meadow, Kingsnorth, Ashford.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage today while the little boys are treated at a London hospital.

A spokesperson added: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a white Hyundai and two pedestrians in Moatfield Meadow, Kingsnorth.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the pedestrians, two boys aged eight and five, were taken to a London hospital where they remain in a serious but stable condition.”

The road was closed while the incident was responded to and reopened at around 10.30pm that evening.
