Christmas comes early for the YMCA charity shop in Ashford

A charity shop has embraced Christmas early by putting its decorations more than three months before the big day.

Despite the summer break only recently coming to an end, Christmas trees and decorations are on display in the YMCA charity shop.

Staff at the store, which is based in the Park Mall Shopping Centre, started working on the festive display this afternoon.

Shop manager Lisa Barden said: "It's just the case of getting there before everyone else does.

"We may as well sell it now as all the decorations were just sitting upstairs.

"Plus there are only 14 Fridays until Christmas."
