Tactical operations officers had been on patrol on Monday afternoon when they spotted a suspicious car, which quickly took-off.

Following a chase along the A251 Faversham Road and towards Boughton, the vehicle was brought to a controlled stop.

Kostandin Christodopulos was arrested at the scene, and the car was seized for further inspection.

A search of the vehicle found three kilos of cocaine in a hidden box, as well as cash and mobile phones.

Mr Christodopulos, 54, of Long Field in Edgware, London, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.
